David Bulley
After graduating from the August institution that was Newcastle Polytechnic in property, David spent eighteen months working in insurance in the City of London. Although he quickly realised that being employee 9468 didn’t really suit him and he disappeared to the French Alps for six months, working as a nightclub games compare during the night—skiing six days a week, which was bliss!
Returning from the Alps, David realised he needed a job and the only person who was going to give him one was himself. In 1994 David started DB Systems, initially supplying stage presentation products.
From those early stages, DB moved in to AV rental—now, 25 years on, DBpixelhouse are a unique combination of digital agency and AV tech supplier with 100 full time staff, combined with some equally nice and talented freelancers, operating globally.
As CEO, David is involved in the day-to-day running of DBpixelhouse and passionate about driving the business forward—using the skills gleaned from events to offer immersive experiences and insight to permanent installations too.
David says: "The reason have been successful for 25 years? We have always employed really nice people who look after our customers – no egos, no problem!"
