DBpixelhouse created a truly unique touchscreen experience for aircraft propulsion manufacturer GE at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012.
Using two large plates of glass with the etched outline of commercial plane and fighter jet, in a style similar to Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, we illuminated the planes and made them touch responsive. Tapping on different areas of the plane triggered video content to play on a large screen alongside the glass. We also created a rumble floor to enhance the immersive experience, making the video footage of a helicopter flying past even more life-like.
Feedback on the glass touchscreen was remarkable, with delegates claiming they’d never seen anything like it before. GE have very high standards for their exhibition spaces at Farnborough, and weren’t disappointed, with their space being the talk of the show once again.
